No this is my favorite...

Pretty much this is what Etta and I do during Ailey's nap time :)

Mom actually helped me today -- 

we didn't get too many in because Etta was not really having it, but I love these...

(  Still blue.... as far as we can tell... )
Also, I love how she can have the tiny-ist little lips and then all of a sudden they're out...
It totally changes the shape of her face -- she is suck an expressive little thing.

Etta wants you to look at her cute feet...

Easter...

I only took a few pics yesterday... 

but I thought I'd let you in on the few I did...

PS- Ailey was geeked to find that the Easter bunny knew she was planning a move South...

Mini-Shoot...

While Ailey was off having a sleep over with Aunt Cassidy, Aaron and Lar Lar,

(which means awesome things like swimming at the Y, a fort and a movie...)

I spent a few minutes trying to get a few 'newborn' shots of Etta...

Little Miss kept falling asleep, so the session was maybe 10minutes long, 

but I just love some of these shots.

I guess if I just keep getting a few at a time we might add up eventually to a whole session.

on a side note thanks for helping make big sis feel special today... 

that means so much to this mama.

Just thought I'd share a few favorites...

First Bath...

 Before taking Etta to the pediatrician's office we decided little needed a bath -- 

love love love these.  

She was so relaxed the whole time, we were cracking up...

Update on Etta's ped appointment...

Her weight is still down.  She's currently still a little peanut weighing in at 5lbs 5oz... 

We're going to be watching her weight pretty closely over the next few weeks.

Other than that she's healthy.  (insert sigh of relief here...)

PS-

This kid is a miracle.  

(most of you reading this know that already... and really, all babies are...) 

But really, this kid is a miracle.

The pediatrician hinted to us about the knot in Etta's cord 

and how it could be a cause of her low birth weight and that we were lucky.

That coupled with something I remembered the doctor saying at the hospital caused some research...

Apparently a 'true knot' is really rare... 

and even more rare - a baby who has one 'making it.'

Yep, our miracle.

And as I'm listening to her coo next to me while I write this, 

I can't help but to think over and over again about how thankful I really am.

I need time to slow down...

I really think I would be happy to freeze life as it is now... 

I don't know how to begin to explain how happy these last few days have been for me.

(sleep deprived, and a little emotional mind you-- but a happy to depths I haven't seen in a while...

you know, that soul piercing depth that you only find in moments like these)

I snapped these tonight after a feeding when little miss seemed more awake...  

I'm sure there will be more to come, but enjoy our 5minute photo session.

(seriously, miss sleepy pants only allows 

for about 5mins at a time for us to see those beautiful baby blues)

 

(I love love LOVE the way Ailey loves her sister...)  sigh.

And when we're not doing 5minute photo shoots... we are --------- ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

(during the day at least...  Let's hope that works itself out - and soon.) 

It's really hard to get mad at something though that looks like this most of the time...
